A nationally recognized professional services organization is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join its Methods, Credits & Incentives (MCI) - Research & Development Tax Credit team.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage R&D tax credit engagements from planning through completion
Conduct client site visits to understand operations and identify qualifying R&D activities
Analyze financial data and accounting records related to R&D costs
Prepare cost lead schedules, summary schedules, and supporting tax calculations
Research complex tax regulations related to federal and state R&D incentives
Draft technical reports summarizing findings and tax positions
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met
Mentor and supervise team members supporting project deliverables
Assist with client proposals and business development initiatives
Collaborate with leadership on strategic tax planning and practice growth
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field
Active CPA or JD with an active attorney license (required)
6-10 years of experience working with R&D tax credits, fixed asset studies, or tax accounting methods
At least 4 years of experience in public accounting or consulting environments
Experience managing client engagements or tax projects
Knowledge of federal R&D tax regulations and relevant state provisions
Familiarity with tax return mechanics and amended return processes
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel periodically to client locations
