Job description

An established healthcare organization in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services in an acute-care environment. Multiple shifts and schedules are available.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner will deliver respiratory care according to established clinical standards, departmental procedures, and treatment protocols while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide safe, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy services in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
  • Assess patients and administer appropriate respiratory treatments and therapies.
  • Monitor patient response to respiratory interventions and communicate relevant changes to the care team.
  • Operate respiratory therapy equipment safely and accurately.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and comply with applicable patient-safety standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals to support coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in multiple shifts and schedules based on departmental staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Active Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner license upon hire.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire.
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Relevant respiratory care experience; candidates with 1-2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous respiratory therapy experience in an acute-care hospital environment.
  • Experience caring for diverse patient populations and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Compensation and Details

  • Salary to be discussed.
  • $8,000 sign-on bonus for eligible external hires and qualifying rehires.
  • Relocation may be possible for an ideal candidate.
