Job description

An established healthcare organization is seeking a Director of Pharmacy Services to lead daily pharmacy operations and ensure the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all pharmacy department operations.
  • Supervise the preparation, verification, and dispensing of medications.
  • Review and approve medications distributed through the pharmacy.
  • Manage pharmaceutical purchasing and inventory levels to maintain adequate stock.
  • Ensure proper procurement, storage, handling, and distribution of medications.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations and standards.
  • Enter and maintain patient medication information within pharmacy systems.
  • Serve as a pharmacy resource for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support medication safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts.
  • Oversee pharmaceutical services provided to affiliated outpatient and emergency care locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S. Pharmacy).
  • Active licensure through the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy leadership experience in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to obtain certification in aseptic technique within one year of employment.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medication management, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
