Senior Physician Assistant - Urgent Care/Emergency

An advanced-level Physician Assistant role is open within a high-volume urgent care and emergency setting in Roseville, CA. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on delivering patient-centered care. Evening shifts are available, totaling 32-36 hours per week, with a rotating schedule that includes weekends.

You'll work closely with a supervising physician, performing both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, managing acute patient care, and assisting in various department-specific duties. This position is ideal for an experienced PA seeking autonomy and a dynamic clinical setting. The area offers access to vibrant outdoor recreation, family-friendly suburbs, and proximity to Sacramento's entertainment and culinary scene.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed physical exams and gather patient histories
  • Order and interpret imaging, EKGs, and lab results
  • Administer treatments including sutures, wound care, injections, and immunizations
  • Implement and monitor patient management plans and document clinical notes
  • Educate patients and families on conditions and treatments
  • Perform department-specific procedures and assist with perioperative care when required
  • May assist in surgeries or act as First Assist depending on specialty
  • Participate in admissions, discharges, and inpatient rounding
  • Mentor junior Client and contribute to team-based care improvements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Physician Assistant in an Urgent Care or Emergency Department within the last 5 years
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current California Physician Assistant License
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Physician Assistant National Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative, unionized environment
  • Able to work the specified evening/weekend schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certification in specialty area
  • Experience working independently in a high-acuity setting
  • Fast learner, adaptable team player

Schedule Overview:

  • Rotating Weeks:
    • Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday
    • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday
  • Weekday Hours: 12:30pm - 8:30pm
  • Weekend Hours: 9:30am - 6:00pm
  • 32 or 36 hours per week available
